The Eric C. Powell remix of e.no’s ‘Why Should I Run?’ happened quite by accident. It was during a radio show’s online chat in early 2021, when both listened to and enjoyed each other’s songs, and spontaneously agreed to create remixes for each other. Just for the fun of it.

‘Why Should I Run?’ itself is a very synth-laden, positive electronic pop song. Unlike the bright, very likeable flair of the original, Eric seeks to bring a more outright 80s feeling to his interpretation of ‘Why Should I Run?’. His remix introduces a rougher, openly retrospective tonal quality, all weaving around e.no’s trademark vocals. Incorporating a demandingly blunt lead synth, playfully shimmering arpeggios and a classic 80s drum beat (mind the snare!), this version demands to be danced to on a Saturday night. Or any time when you need to escape every day’s hamster wheel of routine. This remix perfectly evokes the unreal, synthetic charms of an electric night out!
